Travis Lamon Fisher (born September 12, 1979) is an American former professional football player. He played as a cornerback in the NFL. After his playing career, he became a football coach. He is currently a coach for the Syracuse team.

Early Life and High School Sports
Travis Fisher grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. He went to Godby High School. There, he was a talented athlete in two sports. He earned varsity letters in both football and track.
Track and Field Success
In track, Travis was a state champion. He won first place in the 100-meter dash. He also won the 200-meter dash. Travis was part of the 4x100 meter relay team. This team also won the state championship.
College Football Career
After high school, Travis Fisher played college football for the UCF Knights. He was a strong defensive player. He started in 23 of the 33 games he played.
Key College Stats
During his time at UCF, Travis made 130 tackles. He also had four interceptions. He was good at defending passes, breaking up 35 of them. In his senior year, he had 61 tackles and two interceptions. He also broke up 13 passes.

Joining the St. Louis Rams

Time with the Detroit Lions
In 2007, Travis signed with the Detroit Lions. He had a career-high 85 tackles in his first year with the team. He started 13 of 16 games. He re-signed with the Lions for three more years in 2008. He played 15 games that year. The Lions released him in May 2009.

Coaching Defensive Backs
Travis was the defensive backs coach at Nebraska from 2018 to 2022. He also coached defensive backs at UCF from 2015 to 2017. Under his coaching, many defensive backs have done well. Nine of his players from 2018 to 2022 signed NFL contracts. One player, Mike Hughes, became an All-American. He was also a first-round NFL draft pick after just one season with Fisher.
Current Coaching Role
In January 2023, Travis Fisher joined the Syracuse Orange football team. He is currently their defensive backs coach.
