Trenton Denzel Scott (born January 25, 1994) is an American professional football player. He plays as an offensive tackle for the Washington Commanders in the National Football League (NFL). Scott played college football for the Grambling State Tigers. He joined the Los Angeles Chargers in 2018. He has also played for the Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Early Life and High School Football
Trent Scott was born on January 25, 1994. His hometown is Huntsville, Alabama. He went to Lee High School. While there, he was chosen as an all-state player three times. He played football with wide receiver Chester Rogers.
College Football Career
Scott played football for five seasons at Grambling State University. He took a year off from playing, called a redshirt year, during his sophomore season due to an injury. Throughout his entire college career, Scott was a strong player. He only allowed opponents to sack his team's quarterback three times.
In his senior year, Scott was especially good. He did not allow any sacks at all. He was recognized for his excellent performance. He was named first-team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference. Scott earned a degree in Sports Management as a junior. During his senior year, he was working on a master's degree in Sports Administration.
Professional Football Career
Trent Scott began his professional career in the NFL. He has played for several teams. His role as an offensive tackle is to protect the quarterback and help the running backs.
Los Angeles Chargers
In April 2018, Scott signed with the Los Angeles Chargers. He joined them as an undrafted free agent. This means he was not chosen in the NFL Draft but was still signed by a team. He was first part of the Chargers' practice squad. Later, he was moved to the main team roster.
Scott played his first NFL game on September 23, 2018. He made his first start as a left tackle on October 7. This was because another player was injured. In his first year, Scott played in nine games and started one. In 2019, he became the starting left tackle for the Chargers. He played in all 16 games that season. He started nine of those games.
Carolina Panthers
On September 6, 2020, Scott joined the Carolina Panthers. He was claimed by them after being waived by the Chargers. During his time with the Panthers, he started four games at left tackle. He signed an extension to stay with the Panthers in February 2021.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Scott signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on May 13, 2022. He was briefly waived but then re-signed to the active roster on September 1, 2022.
Washington Commanders
On March 23, 2023, Scott signed a two-year contract with the Washington Commanders. He continued to play as an offensive tackle for the team. In a game in September 2024, Scott made a memorable play. He lined up as an eligible receiver. He then caught a 1-yard pass from quarterback Jayden Daniels. This was his first career touchdown. It was also Daniels' first career passing touchdown. On March 21, 2025, Scott re-signed with the Commanders for another year.
