History of Trenton
Trenton was first settled in 1796. It was known as Lewisburg back then. Settling means people started to build homes and live in the area.
In 1819, the town got a new name. It was renamed Trenton, just like the city of Trenton, New Jersey. Later, in 1840, Trenton officially became an incorporated city. This means it got its own local government.
