Early Life and Education

Trevor Baxter was born in Lewisham, a part of London, England. His father worked for the postal service. Trevor went to Dulwich College, a well-known school. After that, he trained to be an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Acting Career

Trevor Baxter had a long and busy acting career. He appeared in many popular TV shows. Some of these include Adam Adamant Lives!, Z-Cars, and The New Avengers.

He is especially remembered for his role in the classic science fiction show Doctor Who. He played Professor George Litefoot in an episode called The Talons of Weng-Chiang in 1977. He also appeared in Rumpole of the Bailey in 1978.

Trevor also worked with the famous Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). He performed in plays in London's West End, which is like Broadway in the UK. He even toured South America with the famous actor Sir Ralph Richardson. In the US, he acted in a play called A Life in the Theatre.

Film and Audio Work

Trevor Baxter was in several films too. These included Nutcracker (1983), Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004), and Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj (2006).

He continued to play Professor Litefoot for Doctor Who audio dramas. These were stories you could listen to. He recorded many of these audio adventures for Big Finish Productions.

As a Playwright

Besides acting, Trevor Baxter was also a writer. He wrote several plays, such as Lies, The Undertaking, and Office Games. His play Ripping Them Off was first performed in 1990.

He also adapted famous books for the stage. In 2003, he turned Oscar Wilde's story The Picture of Dorian Gray into a play. Later, he adapted Wilde's short story Lord Arthur Savile's Crime for a touring show.

Later Years

Trevor Baxter kept working on Doctor Who audio dramas for many years. He completed thirteen series as Professor Litefoot.

He passed away on July 16, 2017. The reason for his death was not shared publicly.
