Company History
Treyarch started in 1996 as Treyarch Inventions. In 2001, Activision bought the company. A few years later, in 2005, another game studio called Gray Matter Studios joined Treyarch.
Making James Bond Games
At a big game event in 2007, Activision announced that Treyarch would help make their first game based on James Bond. This game was called 007: Quantum of Solace. It came out in Europe on October 31, 2008, and in North America on November 4, 2008. Other companies helped make different versions of the game for other consoles.
Developing Call of Duty
Treyarch is a very important developer for the Call of Duty series. They have made many games in this popular series.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II was a huge success. When it was released, it broke records for the biggest entertainment launch ever. It earned over US$650 million in just five days!
