Tropic is a small town in Garfield County, Utah. It is located along a beautiful road called Utah Scenic Byway 12. In 2020, about 486 people lived there. The town was started in 1891.

Exploring Tropic's Location
Tropic is found in the southern part of Garfield County. It sits along Utah Route 12. The town is about 7.5 miles (12 km) southeast of Bryce Canyon City. It is also about 5 miles (8 km) north of Cannonville.
Tropic is in the Tropic Valley. The Paria River flows through this valley. This river eventually joins the Colorado River.

The United States Census Bureau says that Tropic covers a total area of about 7.94 square miles (20.55 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a small part, about 0.02 square miles (0.06 square kilometers), is water.

- Wanda Day was a drummer for the rock band 4 Non Blondes. She passed away on July 10, 1997, at 36 years old. She is buried in the Tropic cemetery.
