Troy Elderon Hudson (born March 13, 1976) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a point guard. Troy played for 11 years in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was not chosen in the 1997 NBA draft, but he still made it to the NBA. His best season was in 2002–03 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. During that time, he scored an average of 14.2 points per game.

Troy Hudson's College Basketball Journey
Troy Hudson played college basketball at two universities. He started at the University of Missouri. Later, he moved to Southern Illinois University. His college basketball career ended during his junior year.
Troy Hudson's Professional Basketball Career
Starting with the Yakima SunKings (1997–1998)
Troy Hudson was not picked by any team in the 1997 NBA draft. This meant he was an undrafted player. He began his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). His first team was the Yakima SunKings.
Playing for the Utah Jazz (1998)
In 1998, Troy Hudson worked hard to earn a spot on the Utah Jazz team. However, his time with the Jazz was short. He only played with them for two months.
Time with the Clippers, Skyforce, and Magic (1998–2002)
After leaving the Jazz, Troy played for the Los Angeles Clippers. During this time, he also played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the CBA in 1999. Later, he joined the Orlando Magic. With the Magic, he started to become an important player. In the 2001–02 season, he played in 81 games. He averaged 12 points and 3 assists per game.
Becoming a Star with the Minnesota Timberwolves (2002–2007)
Troy Hudson had his most successful years with the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the 2002–03 season, he had his best performance. He averaged 14.2 points and 5.7 assists per game. During the 2003 NBA playoffs, he played incredibly well against the Los Angeles Lakers. He even got the nickname "Laker Killer" because of his amazing play. In that playoff series, his scoring jumped to 23.5 points per game. The Timberwolves lost the series 2–4, but Troy's performance was outstanding.
After signing a big contract in 2003, Troy faced some challenges. He had many injuries that affected his playing time. From the 2005–06 to 2006–07 seasons, he only played in 70 games combined. On August 3, 2007, his contract with the Timberwolves ended.
Short Time with the Golden State Warriors (2007–2008)
On September 24, 2007, Troy Hudson signed with the Golden State Warriors. However, he only played in nine games during the 2007–08 season. He had hip surgery on January 10, 2008. To make space for another player, Chris Webber, the Warriors released Troy on January 29. Throughout his NBA career, Troy averaged 9.0 points per game.
Returning to Sioux Falls and Retirement (2012–2013)
On October 31, 2012, Troy Hudson signed with the Sioux Falls Skyforce again. This time, the team was part of the NBA D-League. He continued to struggle with injuries. Because of this, he decided to retire from basketball at the end of January 2013.
Troy Hudson's Music Career
Besides basketball, Troy Hudson also had a music career. He released one main album called Undrafted. He has also recorded around 800 songs! Troy often brought a drum machine with him on road trips. He once said in an interview, "I have my own label—Nutty Boyz Entertainment—and I have three artists (that I manage)." However, his albums did not sell many copies. His own album only sold 78 copies in its first week.
