In 1998, Troy worked hard to earn a spot on the Utah Jazz team. However, his time with the Jazz was short. He only played with them for two months.

Time with the Clippers, Skyforce, and Magic (1998–2002)

Troy then played for the Los Angeles Clippers. During this time, he also played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the CBA in 1999. After that, he joined the Orlando Magic.
