Tsawout First Nation facts for kids
The Tsawout First Nation is a group of Indigenous people who live on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. They are part of the Sencot'en Alliance, which is a group of related First Nations. In the 1850s, their leaders signed agreements called the Douglas Treaties with the government. The Tsawout people speak the SENĆOŦEN language. Their main offices are in Saanichton.

Where the Tsawout First Nation Lives
The main village of the Tsawout First Nation is called East Saanich Indian Reserve No. 2. It is located about 15 minutes north of the city of Victoria, on the east side of the Saanich Peninsula. This reserve is about 241 hectares in size.
The Tsawout First Nation also has other lands, or "reservations," in different places. These include areas on Fulford Harbour, Saturna Island, Mandarte Island, Pender Island, and Goldstream.
