The Tsirku River is a river in Alaska, a state in the United States. It's a stream fed by glaciers, which are like huge, slow-moving rivers of ice. You can find it near the town of Haines in Southeast Alaska.

The river starts at the Tsirku Glacier. This is a very big glacier that stretches across the border between Alaska and British Columbia, a province in Canada. The Tsirku River flows into a wide area called a delta. This delta is about 4 miles (6.4 km) wide. It's located near the Tlingit village of Klukwan. Even though many glaciers that feed the river are in Canada, the river itself flows completely within Alaska.

Where the Tsirku River Flows

The Tsirku River is about 25 miles (40 km) long. It begins high up in the Takhinsha Mountains. The river's source, where it starts, is at an elevation of about 1,460 feet (445 meters).

The river flows generally southwest. It travels through beautiful Alaskan wilderness. Its journey ends when it joins a larger river.

Joining the Chilkat River

The Tsirku River is an important part of a bigger river system. It flows into the Chilkat River. The Chilkat River is a major river in this part of Alaska.

The Tsirku River is the second largest river that flows into the Chilkat River. The only river that is bigger is the Klehini River. This means the Tsirku River adds a lot of water to the Chilkat River.

Location and Surroundings

The Tsirku River is located in Haines Borough. This area is known for its stunning natural beauty. It has tall mountains, thick forests, and many glaciers.

The river's mouth, where it meets the Chilkat River, is near the village of Klukwan. This village is about 21 miles (34 km) southwest of Skagway. The area is part of the Saint Elias Mountains.
