Where is Tsitsutl Peak Located?
This impressive peak is found inside Tweedsmuir South Provincial Park. It is about 43 kilometers (27 miles) northwest of a place called Anahim Lake. It's also about 44 kilometers (27 miles) northeast of another mountain, Thunder Mountain. The park is a beautiful natural area in Canada.
How Did Tsitsutl Peak Get its Name?
The name "Tsitsutl" comes from a local First Nations language. It means "painted mountains." This name describes the entire Rainbow Range, which Tsitsutl Peak is a part of.
