This article is about Anahim Lake. It is not about Anaham, a different community nine kilometres east of Alexis Creek, British Columbia.
Anahim Lake is a small community located in British Columbia, Canada. About 1500 people live in the village and nearby areas like Nimpo Lake. The Ulkatcho First Nation also has 729 people living on reserves close by.
Every July, Anahim Lake hosts a big event called the Anahim Lake Stampede. It's a fun time where local people show off their skills. The community has three general stores, a motel, a restaurant, and a police station (RCMP). Anahim Lake is on Highway 20. It's about 320 km west of Williams Lake and 140 km east of Bella Coola.

Anahim Lake is a quiet place surrounded by nature. It's known for its beautiful lakes and forests. The community is a hub for people living in the area.
Local Industries
One main way people make a living in Anahim Lake is through forestry. This means working with trees and wood. Sadly, this industry has faced challenges. A problem called the pine beetle epidemic has hurt many trees in Western Canada.
In 2006, the local lumber mill had to close. Many workers lost their jobs. But good news! The mill has since reopened, though it's not running at full speed yet.

- Sport fishing: People come from all over to fish in the many lakes.

Anahim Lake is the hometown of Carey Price. He is a famous ice hockey player. Carey Price plays for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League. He has won the Vezina Trophy and an Olympic gold medal.
Education and Services
Anahim Lake has a public school called Anahim Lake Elementary Jr. Secondary. It is part of School District #27. The school teaches students from Kindergarten all the way to Grade 10. The current principal is Mr. Thomas J Pak. The school building has been used since it was built in 2006.
The British Columbia Ambulance Service has a station in Anahim Lake. They provide emergency medical help. They also help transfer patients from the Ulkatcho Nursing Station. Local people work there as paramedics and drivers.
Geography and Namesake
Anahim Lake is so important that it has given its name to a few geological features. These include the Anahim Volcanic Belt, the Anahim hotspot, and Anahim Peak. These are all interesting parts of the Earth's geology in the region.
