Tuamarina, also known as Tua Marina, is a small town in the Marlborough area of New Zealand. State Highway 1 goes right through the town. The Tuamarina River meets the Wairau River just south of Tuamarina. The town of Picton is about 18 kilometers north, and Blenheim is about 10 kilometers south.

The name Tuamarina comes from the Māori word Tuamarino. This word means 'the calm beyond'.

Dairy farming is the main way people make a living here. There used to be a cheese factory in Tuamarina. It was called the Marlborough Cheese Company and won many awards. Later, a bigger company called Fonterra took it over in 1999. Sadly, the factory was destroyed by fire in 2004.

An important historical event called the Wairau Affray happened in this area in 1843. This event led to 26 deaths.

The Wairau Plain, where Tuamarina is located, can sometimes flood. Because of this, it's important to manage the river to prevent floods. There have been big floods in Tuamarina, like one in December 1939.
