Tumble Leaf is a fun American animated series that first aired in 2014 on Amazon Prime Video. It's a special type of animation called stop motion, where objects are moved tiny bits at a time and photographed to make them look like they're moving on their own. This show is made for younger children and is based on a short film called Miro.
The series was created by animator Drew Hodges and the stop-motion studio Bix Pix Entertainment. Tumble Leaf tells the stories of Fig, a blue fox who acts like a human, and his caterpillar friend Stick. They live on an island called Tumble Leaf with other animal friends. The show helps young kids learn basic science ideas through playful adventures.
Fig and Stick are both voiced by child actor Christopher Downs. Other characters include Maple (Brooke Wolloff), Hedge (Zak McDowell), Pine (Addie Zintel), Ginkgo (Alex Trugman), Rutabaga (Jodi Downs), Zucchini (Alan Franzenburg), and Butternut & Squash (Emily Downs). In each episode, Fig finds new items in a special room inside an old shipwreck where he lives. He then learns how these items work through two short stories.
