Where is Turbot Island?
Turbot Island is found off the Irish coast. It is not far from the towns of Clifden and Cleggan. The island is located south of another island called Inishturk. It is also west of a piece of land known as Aird Mhór Peninsula.
The easiest way to land on Turbot Island is on its north side. This is where most of the old houses on the island are grouped together. A road runs across Turbot Island, going from the east side to the west side.
A Look at Turbot Island's Past
A small group of people used to live on Turbot Island for many years. However, everyone living there had to leave the island in 1978. After the island was empty, some of the old buildings were changed. They were turned into homes for people to use during holidays.
