About the Turkey River
The Turkey River starts in Concord, New Hampshire. Its journey begins at the end of Little Turkey Pond. From there, the river flows southeast.
Its Journey to the Merrimack
The river winds its way through the area. It passes through the campus of St. Paul's School. It then goes through the edges of Concord. Finally, it enters Bow. The Turkey River then joins the larger Merrimack River. This meeting point is near where two major highways, Interstate 93 and Interstate 89, come together.
The 2006 Flood Event
In May 2006, a lot of rain fell over two days. This caused the Turkey River to flood. The water covered parts of the St. Paul's School campus. Because of the flood, the school year had to end earlier than planned.
