Turtle Island is a small island located in the Torres Strait Islands archipelago. It is part of the amazing Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in Queensland, Australia. This island is found east of the Cape York Peninsula, which is the northernmost tip of mainland Australia.

This island sits in a place called Newcastle Bay. This bay is where two rivers, the Escape River and the Middle River, meet the sea. It's also close to a creek called Jackey Jackey Creek.

Turtle Island is right next to the Apudthama National Park. This park is a protected area, meaning it's kept safe for nature and wildlife. The island is about 30 kilometers (19 miles) southeast of a town called Bamaga.
