This university is the oldest one in Tennessee. It is also the 28th oldest university in the entire United States. Tusculum is a suburb, which means it's a smaller town near a bigger city, in this case, Greeneville. Together, Greeneville and Tusculum had a population of about 18,777 people in 2020.

Getting Around Tusculum: Transportation
Roads are important for getting around Tusculum.
- State Route 107 used to go through the center of Tusculum. Now, it takes a different path. It runs along U.S. Route 11E and US Route 321 on the north side of the city. There's also a new part of SR-107 on the east side, called the Tusculum Bypass.
- US-11E and US-321 run together on the north side of the city.
- SR-351 also connects with SR-107 on the southeast side.
- The main road that goes through downtown Tusculum is called Erwin Highway. This used to be part of the old SR-107 route.
