Twin Lakes was once a special area in Broward County, Florida, USA. It was called a "census-designated place" (CDP), which means it was a community recognized by the government for counting people, but it wasn't an official city or town. In the year 2000, about 1,875 people lived there.

This area was actually split into two parts: Twin Lakes North and Twin Lakes South. In 2004, the people living in Twin Lakes North voted to become part of the nearby City of Fort Lauderdale. This change happened in 2005, and now Twin Lakes North is a neighborhood within Fort Lauderdale. Twin Lakes South also became a neighborhood, joining Oakland Park, Florida in 2005.
