Twin Lakes is a special area in Greene County, Virginia, United States. It is called a census-designated place, which means it's a community that the government counts as a separate place for statistics. In 2010, about 1,647 people lived there.
Where is Twin Lakes Located?
Twin Lakes is in the southern part of Greene County. It is built around some small lakes. These lakes were made on a stream called Quarter Creek. This creek flows into Swift Run, which then goes into the North Fork of the Rivanna River. The Rivanna River is part of the larger James River system.
The community is about 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Stanardsville. Stanardsville is the main town in Greene County. Twin Lakes is also about 21 miles (34 km) north of Charlottesville, a larger city nearby.
