Two Buttes is a special mountain in Prowers County, Colorado. It has two peaks, like two big bumps on the land. These peaks are the highest points in Prowers County, Colorado. They stand out about 300 feet (91 meters) above the flat land around them, so you can see them from far away!

What Makes Two Buttes Special?

Two Buttes is known for its unique shape. It has two main peaks that rise up from the very flat land around them. This flat land is part of the Great Plains, which stretches across many parts of the central United States.

The south peak of Two Buttes is a little taller than the north peak. It is about 30 feet (9 meters) higher. Both peaks are connected by a lower area of land called a saddle. Imagine it like a horse's saddle connecting two high points.

Where is Two Buttes Located?

This interesting mountain is located in Prowers County, Colorado. The land where the peaks stand is private property. This means people cannot visit the peaks without special permission from the landowner.

Even though the peaks are in Prowers County, they are very close to Baca County. Just south of the peaks, in Baca County, you'll find the Two Buttes Reservoir State Wildlife Area. This area is a great place for nature and wildlife.

The mountain is also located just east of two important highways, Highway 385 and Highway 287. The small town of Two Buttes is also nearby, located to the south of the peaks in Baca County.
