Tyke Tolbert was born on September 15, 1967. He is an American football coach and a former player. Currently, he works as the wide receivers coach for the Tennessee Titans. This team is part of the National Football League (NFL), which is the biggest professional American football league.
Before joining the Titans, Coach Tolbert worked with several other NFL teams. These include the Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, and New York Giants.

Coaching in College Football
Tyke Tolbert began his coaching path as a graduate assistant at LSU in 1994. Later that year, he moved to Northeast Louisiana to continue as a graduate assistant.
In 1995, he coached wide receivers at Ohio. After that, he went back to Northeast Louisiana. There, he helped coach the team's tight ends for three seasons.
He then coached tight ends at Auburn in 1998. For the next three years (1999-2001), Tyke was the wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Louisiana-Lafayette. In 2002, he coached tight ends and was a recruiting coordinator at Florida. After that, he made the big jump to coaching in the NFL.
Starting in the NFL
Before getting his first official NFL coaching job, Tyke Tolbert gained experience through the NFL's Minority Internship Program. He worked with the Detroit Lions during their training camp in 1997. He also interned with the Arizona Cardinals in 2001.
Coaching the Arizona Cardinals
Tyke Tolbert's first official NFL coaching job was with the Arizona Cardinals in 2003. He was their wide receivers coach. That year, he helped a new player named Anquan Boldin become the offensive rookie of the year. This award goes to the best new offensive player in the league.
Coaching the Buffalo Bills
After his time with the Cardinals, Tolbert spent six years coaching wide receivers for the Buffalo Bills.
Coaching the Carolina Panthers
In 2010, Coach Tolbert worked as the wide receivers coach for the Carolina Panthers.
Coaching the Denver Broncos
Tyke Tolbert was the wide receivers coach for the Denver Broncos from 2011 to 2017. During his time there, he was part of the coaching staff that won Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016. In that championship game, the Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers with a score of 24 to 10. Winning the Super Bowl is a huge achievement in American football.
Coaching the New York Giants
On January 24, 2018, Tolbert joined the New York Giants as their wide receivers coach. He worked under the new head coach, Pat Shurmur. When Joe Judge became the head coach in January 2020, Tolbert kept his job with the team.
Coaching the Chicago Bears
On February 2, 2022, Tolbert became the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator for the Chicago Bears. He worked under head coach Matt Eberflus. On January 10, 2024, Tolbert, along with other coaches, was no longer with the Bears.
Coaching the Tennessee Titans
On February 13, 2024, the Tennessee Titans hired Tyke Tolbert. He joined their team as the wide receivers coach under their new head coach, Brian Callahan.
