Tyler James Williams (born October 9, 1992) is an American actor and rapper. He started acting when he was a child. He appeared on popular shows like Saturday Night Live and Sesame Street.
Tyler became very well-known for playing Chris Rock in the TV show Everybody Hates Chris from 2005 to 2009. He also starred in the Disney Channel movie Let It Shine in 2012. Later, he played Noah on the TV series The Walking Dead.
Since 2021, Tyler has been a main actor in the TV show Abbott Elementary. For this role, he has won important awards like a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He has also been nominated for three Emmy Awards. In movies, he has appeared in Detroit (2017) and The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021).

About Tyler's Early Life
Tyler James Williams was born in Westchester County, New York. He grew up in Yonkers, New York. His mother, Angela Williams, works as a counselor. His father, Le'Roy Williams, is a teacher and used to be a police sergeant. Tyler has two younger brothers, Tyrel Jackson Williams and Tylen Jacob Williams. Both of his brothers are also actors.
Tyler's Acting Career
Tyler began his acting journey when he was just four years old. He voiced the character Bobby in the cartoon Little Bill. He also played a character named Tyler on the PBS show Sesame Street from 2000 to 2005.
Becoming Famous with Everybody Hates Chris
In September 2005, Tyler became very famous. He got the main role in the popular TV show Everybody Hates Chris. The show was about the childhood of comedian Chris Rock. It ran until May 2009. Tyler won a Young Artist Award in 2007 for his amazing work on the show. He also made guest appearances in movies like Two for the Money and TV shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2009, he appeared in True Jackson, VP as a character named Justin.
Music and Other Roles
In 2012, Tyler played Owen in the TV series Go On. He also starred as Cyrus DeBarge in the Disney Channel movie Let It Shine. In this movie, he showed off his rapping skills. He was featured on nine songs from the film's soundtrack. Songs like "Don't Run Away" and "Let It Shine" were played a lot on Radio Disney.
Tyler also guest starred in the Disney XD series Lab Rats. He played a future version of a character played by his younger brother, Tyrel Jackson Williams.

In 2014, Tyler starred in the independent film Dear White People. He also joined the cast of the TV series The Walking Dead as the character Noah. From 2016 to 2017, he played Russ "Monty" Montgomery in the show Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
In 2017, Tyler was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, a health condition. He has received treatment and undergone surgeries for it. In 2019, he appeared in the romantic comedy film The Wedding Year. In 2020, he played Paul in The Argument.

Since 2021, Tyler has been a main actor in the ABC comedy show Abbott Elementary. He plays Gregory Eddie, a teacher. His performance in this show has earned him many awards and nominations.
