Story of the Film
Stuck at the Airport
Spencer Davenport and his sister Katherine are flying from California to Pennsylvania. They need to spend Christmas with their dad. But on Christmas Eve, a huge snowstorm hits! All planes are stopped at Hoover International Airport.
The siblings are sent to the "UM room." This is a special room for kids traveling alone. There, they meet other kids. There's Charlie, who is very smart. Donna is a tough tomboy. Grace is a rich girl. And Beef Wellington is a bit mysterious.
The Great Escape
Charlie, Spencer, Beef, Grace, and Donna decide to sneak out. They have a lot of fun exploring the airport. But soon, airport security catches them. They are sent back to the UM room.
When they return, they find out something bad. All the other kids, including Katherine, have been moved. They are at a lodge down the road. Mr. Porter, the grumpy head of passenger relations, is in charge. He wants the kids to stay in the UM room all Christmas Eve.
Spencer knows Katherine loves Santa Claus. He wants her to get a present by morning. So, he asks the others for help. If they help him get a gift for Katherine, he will help them escape.
Mission: Find a Present
The kids trick Zach Van Bourke, the friendly clerk watching them. Mr. Porter gets very upset. He sends all the airport guards to find them. Donna and Grace argue, but Spencer tells them they must work together.
Beef leaves to find a Christmas tree. He thinks about his step-father, Ernie. Ernie always told him to be strong. Meanwhile, Spencer and Katherine's dad tries to drive to the airport. His car breaks down, but he borrows a Hummer.
Adventures in the Airport
The kids head to a secret exit at the back of the airport. They let a dog loose to distract the guards. They hide from Mr. Porter in the baggage claim area. Charlie hides in a suitcase and ends up on a conveyor belt!
Donna goes after him, riding the wild conveyor belt too. Spencer and Grace follow them. They end up in the unclaimed baggage warehouse. It's full of amazing presents! They find walkie-talkies and a doll for Katherine.
Christmas Spirit
Mr. Porter and the guards see them on security cameras. They chase the kids through the warehouse. The kids use a canoe to slide to the lodge. They are still being chased! They manage to find Katherine asleep. Spencer places the doll in her arms.
Grace has to put on glasses, which she used to hate. But Spencer doesn't think she looks like a "dork." Their mission is complete! The kids go back to the airport with Mr. Porter. They are put in separate rooms.
The kids then share why they act the way they do. Grace admits she spends a lot of time alone at airports. Spencer feels bad and plans another escape.
A Christmas Miracle
Using the walkie-talkies, the kids mess with the security cameras. They escape through air ducts. They find the Christmas decorations Mr. Porter took away. Beef returns with a huge Christmas tree! He traded his favorite Aquaman action figure for it.
With Zach's help, the kids decorate the airport. They use items from the unclaimed baggage warehouse as presents. These gifts are for all the other stranded passengers.
Mr. Porter finds Spencer. He admits he's unhappy. He never gets to spend Christmas with his family. Spencer gives him a snow globe and some kind words. This helps Mr. Porter feel the holiday spirit.
On Christmas morning, Mr. Porter dresses as Santa Claus! He hands out presents to everyone. Spencer reunites with Katherine. Their dad arrives to pick them up. Beef tells a girl about his adventure. Charlie and Donna exchange numbers and share a kiss. Grace accepts Spencer's invitation to spend Christmas with his family.
