Tynaarlo is a village and a municipality (like a local government area) in the northeastern part of the Netherlands. Even though it's in the Drenthe province, many of its towns are like suburbs for the nearby city of Groningen. In 2019, about 33,698 people lived in the Tynaarlo municipality.

History of Tynaarlo
In 1998, Tynaarlo became a municipality. It was formed by joining three older municipalities: Eelde, Vries, and Zuidlaren. They first thought about keeping the name Zuidlaren. But Eelde and Vries didn't like that idea. So, they picked the name Tynaarlo, which was a smaller village right in the middle.

About Tynaarlo Village
The village of Tynaarlo is part of the larger Tynaarlo municipality. It's located about 9 kilometers (about 5.6 miles) north of Assen. The village is nestled between the three biggest villages in the municipality: Zuidlaren, Eelde, and Vries.
Tynaarlo village is also very close to the A28 motorway. This major road connects it to the southern and western parts of the Netherlands, making it easy to travel to other cities.

In 2001, the village of Tynaarlo had 1,009 people living there. The main built-up area of the village was about 0.29 square kilometers (0.11 square miles) and had 427 homes. If you include the countryside around the village, the total population for the statistical district of Tynaarlo was 1,920 people.
