Tyron Billy-Johnson, born on January 8, 1996, is an American professional football player. He plays as a wide receiver for the Birmingham Stallions in the United Football League (UFL). Tyron started his professional journey in 2019 when the Houston Texans signed him. Before that, he played college football at Oklahoma State University.

Early Life and High School Football
Tyron grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He went to Warren Easton High School. During his senior year of high school football, he was an amazing player. He caught 94 passes for 1,589 yards and scored 17 touchdowns. He was even named an All-American. Many top college football teams wanted him to play for them.
College Football Career
Tyron first signed with LSU in 2015. However, he later transferred to Oklahoma State University (OSU).
Playing at Oklahoma State
At OSU, Tyron played for two years. In 26 games, he caught 80 passes for a total of 1,288 yards. He was also a good student, earning "Academic All-Big Twelve" honors in his second and third years.
In his junior year at OSU, Tyron played with quarterback Taylor Cornelius. That season, he caught 53 passes for 845 yards and scored seven touchdowns. After his junior year, he decided to enter the NFL draft.
NFL Scouting
Before the NFL draft, players show off their skills at a "Pro Day." Tyron had a great Pro Day. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds, which is very fast!

Professional Football Journey
Tyron Billy-Johnson has played for several teams in his professional career.
Starting with the Houston Texans
On April 27, 2019, the Houston Texans signed Tyron. This meant he joined the team as a professional player. However, he was later released by the team on August 31, 2019.
Time with Other Teams
After leaving the Texans, Tyron spent time with a few other NFL teams' practice squads:
- The Buffalo Bills signed him to their practice squad on September 2, 2019.
- He returned to the Houston Texans practice squad on September 23, 2019.
- The Carolina Panthers signed him to their practice squad on October 2, 2019.
Playing for the Los Angeles Chargers
On December 3, 2019, Tyron joined the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad. He later signed a full contract with them.
In 2020, Tyron got his chance to play in real games. He was moved to the main team roster. In a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he caught his first ever professional pass. It was a 53-yard touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Justin Herbert!
He played in 12 games that season. He caught 20 passes and scored 3 touchdowns. He scored touchdowns against the Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, and Las Vegas Raiders. The Chargers released him on August 31, 2021.
Moving to Jacksonville and Las Vegas
On September 1, 2021, the Jacksonville Jaguars picked up Tyron. He played in five games for them. Later, on November 18, 2021, he joined the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad. He was promoted to the main roster on January 8, 2022.
Later NFL Teams
Tyron continued to move between teams:
- He had a third time with the Houston Texans in October 2022.
- He joined the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad in November 2022.
- In February 2023, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
- He signed with the Dallas Cowboys in June 2023. He was released and re-signed with them multiple times.
