Tärendö (pronounced like TAIR-en-duh) is a small village in Norrbotten County, Sweden. In the year 2000, about 208 people lived there. It is special because it sits right by the Kalix River. Another river, the Tärendö River, branches off from the Kalix River here. This branching is called a bifurcation.
