U.S. 1st Infantry Division facts for kids
The 1st Infantry Division of the United States Army is a very old and important group of soldiers. It's often called the Big Red One because of its special shoulder patch that looks like a big red number one. This division has been part of almost every major war the American Army has fought.
Their official saying, or motto, is "Duty First," which means they always put their duty first. They also have an unofficial motto: "No Mission Too Difficult, No Sacrifice Too Great." This shows how determined and brave they are.
