Historic Buildings in Ubly
The Citizens Bank Block was built in 1907 by a local builder named David Pierce. This building was very important because it held a bank, a shop that made harnesses for horses, and a library.
Albert Sleeper (1862–1934) was a very important person in Michigan. He served in the Michigan State Senate and even became the governor! He helped start the bank in this building with his uncle. Later, in 1900, he became the only owner of the bank. Albert Sleeper owned many other banks and a lot of land. In 1908, he and his wife, Mary Moore, opened a library in the space above the bank.

- Nicole Franzel is a well-known person from Ubly. She won Big Brother 18 and Big Brother Reindeer Games, which are popular TV shows. She also competed in other seasons of Big Brother and on The Amazing Race 31 with her husband, Victor Arroyo.
