Ulrich Jean Eugène Ramé, born on September 19, 1972, is a French former professional football player. He was a goalkeeper, which means he protected the goal from the other team's shots. Ulrich Ramé played football for over 20 years. He spent most of his career, 14 seasons, with the team Bordeaux. There, he played more than 500 official matches. He also helped Bordeaux win six major titles. Ramé also played for the French national team for four years. He even represented France in the Euro 2000 tournament.

Club Career Highlights
Ulrich Ramé was born in Nantes, France. He began his professional football journey with SCO Angers. He first played in France's top league, Ligue 1, in the 1993–94 season. However, his team was immediately moved down to a lower league. Two years later, Angers dropped to another division. But Ulrich Ramé soon returned to the top league. He signed with FC Girondins de Bordeaux for the next season.
Becoming Bordeaux's Main Goalkeeper
In his first season with Bordeaux, 1997–98, Ramé played 23 games. He helped his new team finish fifth in the league. The next year, they reached the final of the domestic League Cup. After this, Ramé became Bordeaux's main goalkeeper. He was a key player for the team. He helped them win two national championships. These wins were ten years apart, showing his long-term impact. He also helped them win three more League Cups.
Later Years and New Teams
In the 2009–10 season, Bordeaux signed another goalkeeper named Cédric Carrasso. At 37 years old, Ramé became the backup goalkeeper. In June 2011, he left Bordeaux after playing 520 matches for them. He then moved to Ligue 2 and joined the team CS Sedan Ardennes. He played for Sedan until 2013 before ending his playing career.
International Career with France
Ulrich Ramé played his first game for the French national team on June 9, 1999. It was a qualifying match for UEFA Euro 2000 against Andorra, which France won 1–0. He was chosen to be part of the squad for the main tournament. France went on to win Euro 2000! After the goalkeeper Bernard Lama retired from international games, Ramé became the second-choice goalkeeper for France.
Winning the Confederations Cup
Ramé played in three matches during the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup. France won this tournament too, making it another big win for him. He was also a backup goalkeeper for France in the 2002 FIFA World Cup. This tournament was held in South Korea. After a difficult moment in a game against the Czech Republic in February 2003, he was not called to play for the national team again by the manager Jacques Santini.
