A Look at Unionville's History
Unionville was founded in 1853. It was first called Harmony. The city became the county seat for Putnam County. Before this, the county seat had moved many times. These moves often caused big arguments. The name "Harmony" was chosen because people hoped the new central location would bring peace to everyone.
