Uwe Rahn (born 21 May 1962) is a German former professional footballer. He played as an attacking midfielder, a player who helps both in attack and defense. Rahn was known for his powerful shots and goal-scoring ability.

Uwe Rahn's Football Journey
Uwe Rahn played in 318 matches in the Bundesliga, which is Germany's top football league. Most of his 107 Bundesliga goals were scored during his eight years at Borussia Mönchengladbach. This is where he became a well-known player and even joined the West Germany national team.
Becoming a Top Scorer
In the 1986–87 season, Uwe Rahn was amazing! He won the kicker-Torjägerkanone award for scoring the most goals in the Bundesliga. He scored 24 goals that season. Fourteen of these goals came in the last nine weeks of the season. Because of this great achievement, Rahn was named Footballer of the Year (Germany) in 1987.
Playing for His Country
Rahn played 14 matches for West Germany between 1984 and 1987. He scored five goals for his country. One of his most important goals came on his first game against Sweden in 1984. He scored just seconds after coming onto the field.
Uwe Rahn was also part of the West Germany team for the 1986 FIFA World Cup. However, he did not play in the tournament because of an injury. He also played for West Germany at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
It's interesting to know that Uwe Rahn is not related to Helmut Rahn. Helmut Rahn was a famous player who scored the winning goal in the 1954 FIFA World Cup.
Later Career Clubs
After his time at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Uwe Rahn played for several other clubs. These included 1. FC Köln, Hertha BSC, Fortuna Düsseldorf, and Eintracht Frankfurt. He finished his career playing for Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan.
