Vadhir Derbez is a Mexican actor and singer. He was born on February 18, 1991. His full name is Vadhir Alejandro González Torres Prince. He is known as Vadhir Derbez. He has worked with many big companies. These include Televisa, Univision, Warner Brothers, Netflix, TV Azteca, and Telemundo.

Early Life and Education

Vadhir Derbez was born in Mexico City. His father is the famous comic actor Eugenio Derbez.

He went to a military school called Culver Academies. He studied there for four years. While at school, he practiced equestrianism, which is horse riding. In 2008, he even rode in a special parade. This parade was for Barack Obama's inauguration in Washington D.C.

Vadhir Derbez started acting when he was very young. He has appeared in many TV shows and movies.

Vadhir began his acting career in 1997. He was only six years old. His first show was Derbez en Cuando. He also appeared in sketches like Tatiana y En Familia con Chabelo in 2000. In 2001, he was in Diseñador do ambos sexos.

His first main role in a TV show was in the soap opera Cómplices Al Rescate in 2002. After that, he worked on La familia P. Luche in 2002. He also appeared in De pocas, pocas pulgas (2003) and Par de ases (2004). He was in Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real in 2004. From 2005 to 2006, he played Marco López Pérez in the popular show Vecinos. He was in 36 episodes of this series.

In 2010, Vadhir won the first season of Mira Quien Baila. This was a dance competition show on Univision. He was the first-place winner on November 21, 2010. In 2013, he starred in the series Gossip Girl: Acapulco. He played Maximiliano 'Max' Zaga, one of the main characters.

In 2016, Vadhir played César Suárez in the soap opera La querida del Centauro. This show was made by Sony Pictures and Telemundo. It was shown in the United States, Mexico, and South America. In the same year, he had a lead role in Entre correr y vivir. This series was about the lives of race car drivers Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez. Vadhir played the race pilot Rodrigo Hernández. In 2019, he won the first season of ¿Quién es la máscara? as the character Camaleon.

He also started working in international shows. He had a role in the Netflix series Sense8 in 2016.

Theatre Performances

Vadhir started his theater career in 2004. He played Tom Sawyer, the main character in Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer. This play was based on the famous story by Mark Twain.

In 2013, he was in the musical Grease. He played three different roles in that show. Later, in 2014, he had a lead role in the Broadway musical Rock of Ages. He played Jerry alongside actress Dulce Maria. He returned to Grease in 2017 for a tour called Musical USA.

Vadhir's first movie role was in 2005. He voiced the character Chuletas in the animated film Imaginum. His first live-action movie was Ladrones in 2015. He acted alongside Fernando Colunga and Eduardo Yáñez.

In 2016, he got his first lead role in a movie. This was in El tamaño si Importa, directed by Rafa Lara. The next year, he was in 3 Idiotas. This movie was based on a popular Bollywood film. After his success in Mexico, he made his Hollywood debut. This was in the film How to Be a Latin Lover (2017). He played a younger version of the character played by his father, Eugenio. In May 2019, Vadhir co-starred as Beto in the comedy film Dulce familia.

Music Career

Vadhir Derbez also has a music career. He released his first music collection, an EP, called Vadhir Derbez on September 2, 2016. This EP included two songs: "Te Olvidé" and "Me Haces Sentir". "Me Haces Sentir" was released again on February 14, 2017, with a live version.

His song "Al Final" was part of the soundtrack for the movie 3 Idiots. This song was released on March 7, 2017. He also released his fourth song, "Latin Lover," on April 27, 2017. After almost two years, Vadhir released "Mala" on April 5, 2019. He also announced that his song "Toda La Banda" was released in June 2019.
