Valene Kane is a talented actress from Northern Ireland. She is well-known for her roles in many TV shows and movies. Some of her most famous TV appearances include The Fall, Blue Lights, and Gangs of London. She has also starred in films like Rogue One and Profile.

Early Life and Training
Valene Kane was born and grew up in Newry, a town in County Down, Northern Ireland. Her father, Val Kane, was a famous Gaelic footballer and coach.
When she was 15, Valene joined the National Youth Theatre. This is a special group for young people who love acting. She even starred in their play called 20 Cigarettes. At 18, she moved to London to study acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Starting Her Acting Journey
Valene got her first big movie role in The Fading Light. The director, Ivan Kavanagh, saw her in a short film on YouTube and was impressed by her acting. She was especially good at improvising, which means making up lines on the spot.
Another early film she worked on was Still Early, which was shown at the Galway Film Festival.
Valene's Career Highlights
In 2013, Valene Kane became very well known for playing Rose Stagg in the BBC series The Fall. That same year, she also appeared in the Irish thriller Jump and played the main role in a play called Miss Julie.

In 2018, Valene Kane starred as Amy Whittaker in the thriller film Profile. Her character was a journalist who investigated how people are tricked online. The whole movie takes place on computer screens, which is a unique way to tell a story! It won an award at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival.
In 2019, Valene was in Sonja: The White Swan, which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival. She also appeared in the BBC TV movie Counsel.

Valene has also performed in many plays. She was in Autumn Fire, The Black Diamond, and The Rivals. She also played Girleen in The Lonesome West. One reviewer said she made the character feel very real, like a confident schoolgirl.

Awards and Recognition
Valene's acting has received a lot of praise. For her role in The Fall, critics said her performance was "harrowing to watch and completely convincing."
In the BBC Three drama Thirteen, she played Detective Lisa Merchant. The Radio Times called her performance "superb."
