In 2001, she took part in a TV singing competition called Popstar. In 2006, she released a song called "Vai" with Papa Winnie. Eurovision Song Contest: 2012 to 2017

Valentina Monetta is best known for her appearances at the Eurovision Song Contest.

First Try: Eurovision 2012

On March 14, 2012, it was announced that Valentina would represent San Marino at Eurovision 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Her song was first called "Facebook, Uh, Oh, Oh (A Satirical Song)". However, the Eurovision rules do not allow songs that sound like advertisements. Because her song mentioned "Facebook" so much, it was not allowed.

San Marino RTV, the TV station, had to change the song. On March 22, they presented a new version called "The Social Network Song (OH OH – Uh – OH OH)". Valentina performed this song in the first semi-final. She placed 14th and did not make it to the grand final.

Second Try: Eurovision 2013

In August 2012, Valentina starred in a musical called Camelia, which was supported by UNICEF.

On January 30, 2013, it was announced that Valentina would return to Eurovision for San Marino in Malmö, Sweden. Her new song, "Crisalide (Vola)", was released on March 15. This song was written by Ralph Siegel. Many fans really liked her song, but she still did not qualify for the grand final. She finished 11th in the second semi-final. After the contest, she released her first full album, La storia di Valentina Monetta.

Making History: Eurovision 2014

After the 2013 contest, Valentina was asked to represent San Marino again in 2014. She agreed, and her participation was announced on June 19. This made her the first singer since 1966 to compete in three Eurovision contests in a row!

Her song for 2014 was "Maybe (Forse)", released on March 14. This time, Valentina made history! She performed in the first semi-final and qualified for the grand final. This was the first time San Marino had ever reached the Eurovision final since they started competing in 2008. In the grand final, she finished 24th. While preparing for the contest, her second album, Sensibility, was released.

Fourth Try: Eurovision 2017

On March 12, 2017, it was announced that Valentina would return to Eurovision for a fourth time! This tied a record for the most appearances by a singer. Her song, "Spirit of the Night", was a duet with American singer Jimmie Wilson. They performed in the second semi-final but did not qualify for the grand final.

After Eurovision: 2019 to Present

In 2020, Valentina appeared in a TV documentary called "L'isola di San Marino" on Rai 5. On March 6, 2021, she started working at Radio San Marino. She began co-hosting a weekly show called Saturday Morning Live with Federico Vespa.

On February 13, 2022, Valentina performed at the Al Wasl Plaza in Dubai. This was part of San Marino National Day at the Expo 2020 event.
