Contents
History
Valeria got its start in the year 1883, following construction of the Chicago Great Western Railway through the territory. Valeria's population was estimated at 100 residents in 1887, was 146 in 1902, and was 92 in 1915.

2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 57 people, 22 households, and 14 families living in the city. The population density was 1,140.0 inhabitants per square mile (440.2/km2). There were 26 housing units at an average density of 520.0 units per square mile (200.8 units/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 96.5% White and 3.5% African American.
There were 22 households, of which 22.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.5% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.4% were non-families. 27.3% of all households were made up of individuals. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.29.
The median age in the city was 43.5 years. 26.3% of residents were under the age of 18; 3.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 22.9% were from 25 to 44; 28.1% were from 45 to 64; and 19.3% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 56.1% male and 43.9% female.
Education
Colfax–Mingo Community School District operates area public schools. The Colfax and Mingo school districts consolidated on July 1, 1985.
