Discovering Vallentuna
Vallentuna is a special place with a long history. The area around Vallentuna has been home to people for thousands of years. It is known for its well-preserved cultural landscape. This means you can still see many signs of how people lived here a very long time ago.
A Look Back in Time
People have lived in Vallentuna since the Stone Age. This was a time when humans used stone tools. Archeologists have found proof of this. They dug up parts of an old Stone Age settlement. This discovery was made in southern Vallentuna, near a place called Lilla Gävsjö. It shows us that people settled here very early on.
The Bronze Age Arrives
Later, during the Bronze Age, even more people moved to Vallentuna. The Bronze Age was when people started using bronze for tools and weapons. During this time, the land in Vallentuna and the nearby Roslagen area slowly rose. This happened because huge ice glaciers had melted away. As the land rose, it created new areas for people to live and farm. This led to more settlements growing in the region.
