Vawter is a small, quiet place in Morrison County, Minnesota, United States. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. Vawter is located close to the bigger towns of Little Falls and Royalton.

You can find Vawter along 103rd Street, near Morrison County Road 35 and Iris Road. It's part of two different areas called Bellevue Township and Little Falls Township. Nature lovers will be happy to know that the Crane Meadows National Wildlife Refuge and the Rice–Skunk Lake Wildlife Management Area are both very close by. These areas are great for seeing local wildlife and enjoying the outdoors.

Vawter's Past

Vawter has a short but interesting history. It was officially planned out and mapped in 1908. When a place is "platted," it means someone has drawn up a map showing where streets, lots, and buildings could go. This helps organize how the community will grow.

For a while, Vawter even had its own post office. It opened in 1922 and helped people send and receive mail until it closed in 1940. Even though the post office is gone, Vawter remains a small community in Minnesota.
