Venton is a small, quiet community in Somerset County, Maryland, United States. It is not a city or town with its own government. Instead, it is an unincorporated community. This means it is a group of homes and farms that are not officially part of a town.
Venton is mostly made up of farms and homes along Venton Road. It is also home to two important historical places. These are All Saints Church at Monie and Panther's Den. Both of these sites are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are special places that are protected because of their history.

Venton is a rural area, meaning it has lots of open land and fewer buildings. The main road through Venton is Maryland Route 363. People often call this road Deal Island Road.
Venton is located about halfway between two other places: Princess Anne and Oriole. It is also very close to the Manokin River. The river flows into the Chesapeake Bay about a mile south of Venton.
Getting Around Venton
Even though Venton is a small community, it is connected to bigger roads. U.S. Route 13 is a major highway. It is only about 3 miles away from the center of Venton. This road is also important for the nearby town of Princess Anne.
Venton does not have any train lines. The closest train tracks are in Princess Anne. These tracks are currently owned by Norfolk Southern Railway.
