Verona is part of the larger StauntonWaynesboro area.

History of Verona

Verona has some interesting historical places. Two of them, called Mount Airy and Verona School, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are important buildings that are protected because of their history.

In 2021, Augusta County made a plan to move its "county seat" to Verona. A county seat is the main town where the local government offices are located. This means Verona could become an even more important place for the county.
