Villalba Arriba is a neighborhood, called a barrio, in the town of Villalba, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 5,938 people lived there. It is a part of the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, which is a commonwealth of the United States.

A Look Back: History of Villalba Arriba

Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States after the Spanish–American War in 1898. This happened because of a peace agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. Puerto Rico then became an unincorporated territory of the United States. This means it is a part of the U.S. but does not have the same rights as a state.
