Villeta is a lively city in Paraguay. It is located in the Central Department, right by the Paraguay River. Villeta is a very important place for industries and has a busy port.

City Name: Villeta
The city was started on March 5, 1714. It was founded by a person named Juan Gregorio Bazán de Pedraza.
Its first name was San Felipe de Borbón del Valle del Bastán. This name honored King Felipe II. Later, people started calling it Villeta. This was because it looked like a large "Villa" or town.
Villeta's Busy Port
Villeta has an important port on the Paraguay River. The National Administration for Navigation and Ports (ANNP) manages this port. It is specially set up to handle large machines and heavy goods. Many different types of products are shipped through this port.
There is also a private port in Villeta called Caacupé-mí Port. It is one of the most important private ports in Paraguay.
