Vincent Bernard "the Undertaker" Brown (born January 9, 1965) is an American football coach and a former professional player. He was known for his strong play as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL).
Playing Football
Vincent Brown played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the New England Patriots. He was with the team from 1988 to 1995. A linebacker is a key defensive player in football who helps stop the other team from scoring.
The Patriots chose Brown in the second round of the 1988 NFL draft. He played for eight years, and his career was considered one of the best for an inside linebacker in the Patriots' history. He was even named to the 1991 All-Pro Team as a second-team player, which means he was one of the best at his position in the entire league that year. His playing career ended when he was 30 years old.
Coaching Football
After his playing days, Vincent Brown became a football coach. He has coached at many different levels, from high school to college and even in the NFL.
He worked as an assistant coach for several college teams, helping players improve their skills. Some of the colleges he coached at include Virginia, Richmond, Connecticut, and Howard. He also spent time as an assistant coach for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL.
In 2023, Brown became the head coach for the North Carolina A&T team. A head coach is in charge of the entire team, making big decisions about plays and players. He coached the team for two seasons. In December 2024, he left the team after they had a record of 2 wins and 21 losses.
