Vincent Dancy, born on March 10, 1984, is an American college football coach. He is currently a coach for Mississippi State University, working with defensive ends. Before that, he was the head football coach for Mississippi Valley State University from 2018 to 2022. He also coached at Jackson State University, where he used to play, and at Paine College.
Early Life and College Play
Vincent Dancy was a great player at Noxubee County High School. He then played college football at Jackson State University. While there, he was recognized as one of the best players in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). He played as a linebacker and safety.
Coaching Career Highlights
Vincent Dancy started his coaching career as a defensive coordinator at Paine College for one year. In 2015, he joined Coach Rick Comegy's team at Mississippi Valley State University.
On November 20, 2017, Dancy was named the temporary head coach at Mississippi Valley State. This happened when the university decided not to continue with Coach Comegy's contract. On January 2, 2018, Dancy officially became the head football coach for Mississippi Valley State. He led the team until 2022.
After his time as head coach, Dancy joined the coaching staff at Colorado in 2023. Since 2025, he has been coaching defensive ends for Mississippi State.
