Playing Days: Vincent Dancy's College Football Start
Vincent Dancy played college football at Jackson State University. He was a really good player there. He even earned a special honor called 'All-Southwestern Athletic Conference' (SWAC) for his skills. He played as a linebacker and a safety.
Starting His Coaching Career
Dancy began his coaching journey as a graduate assistant at Jackson State University from 2009 to 2011. After that, he became a safety coach for Jackson State from 2012 to 2013.
In 2014, he moved to Paine College and became their defensive coordinator. This means he was in charge of the team's defense.
Coaching at Mississippi Valley State
From 2015 to 2017, Dancy worked as the defensive coordinator for Mississippi Valley State University. He joined the coaching staff under head coach Rick Comegy.
On November 20, 2017, Vincent Dancy was named the interim head coach for Mississippi Valley State. An "interim" coach is someone who takes over temporarily. Then, on January 2, 2018, the university officially made him the head football coach. He led the team until 2022.
Recent Coaching Roles
After his time as head coach, Dancy joined the coaching staff at Colorado in 2023. He worked as a Defensive Quality Control coach, helping to analyze the defense. In 2024, he became the defensive ends coach for Colorado.
