Vincent de Swarte (born June 15, 1963 – died April 24, 2006) was a French writer. He wrote many different kinds of books. These included stories for young people and even mystery novels. Some of his well-known books are Le Carrousel des mers and Pharricide.

Vincent de Swarte's Life

Vincent de Swarte studied political science in Bordeaux. This is a subject about how governments work. After his studies, he worked in advertising for over ten years.

In 1996, he published his first book for young readers. It was called Le Carrousel des mers. Two years later, his novel Pharricide came out. This story was about a lighthouse keeper. The keeper was good at taxidermy, which is preparing, stuffing, and mounting animal skins to make them look alive.

In 1999, Vincent de Swarte received a special award. It was from the Prix Wepler for his novel Requiem pour un sauvage. In 2001, he wrote Le Paradis existe. This book talked about the Chernobyl disaster. It told the story of a village in Ukraine.

Later, in 2005, he wrote Elle et moi. This book mixed real-life events with fantasy. Vincent de Swarte passed away from cancer when he was 43 years old.
