Virgil Childers (born around 1901 – died December 10, 1939) was an American blues musician. He came from South Carolina, United States. He was known for his unique guitar playing style.

Virgil Childers was born in Blacksburg, South Carolina. His parents were Pick Childers and Sarah Smith. He lived in Blacksburg for his whole life.
In 1938, Childers recorded six songs. He made these recordings for Bluebird Records in Charlotte, North Carolina. His songs included different types of blues music. He also played popular songs from that time. Some were "Tin Pan Alley" tunes, which were famous songs written by professional songwriters.
Childers played the guitar in a special "ragtime" style. This style sounded a bit like a "swing" band. Swing music was very popular back then.
Sadly, Virgil Childers died on December 10, 1939. He passed away in Shelby, North Carolina. He was buried there a few days later, on December 13, 1939.
