Voltron: Fleet of Doom is a special TV movie where heroes from both Voltron TV series team up! They work together to stop their big enemy, King Zarkon. King Zarkon joins forces with the Drule Empire to create a super strong group of ships called the Fleet of Doom. This movie was later released on DVD by World Events Productions (WEP), the company that brought Voltron to American audiences.

The Story of Voltron's Fleet of Doom

In this exciting adventure, King Zarkon wants to destroy the Galaxy Alliance. He teams up with Viceroy Throk from the Drule Supreme Council. Together, they build a huge fleet of warships called the Fleet of Doom.

To stop Zarkon, Keith and his friends from one Voltron team join forces. They get help from their friends in the other Voltron Force. But then, the evil witch Haggar captures Princess Allura. This leaves only Keith to rescue her from the wicked witch.

To save Allura, Keith must travel to a mysterious place. It is a land beyond space and time. There, he has to face Haggar at her source of power.

Home Video Releases

The Fleet of Doom special became a popular item for collectors. This is partly because World Events Productions (WEP) did not include it in their main Voltron DVD box sets.

WEP first released Fleet of Doom as an online exclusive. Later, they updated it for better DVD player compatibility. This updated version became available on Amazon.com and the official Voltron store. Media Blasters also released the special on July 28, 2009. This was a stand-alone DVD, not part of any box set.

In 2010, Media Blasters planned a Blu-ray Disc release of Fleet of Doom. However, they canceled it in early 2011. Even so, some Blu-ray copies appeared online in September 2011. It was later confirmed these copies were real. It is still unknown if an official Blu-ray release will happen.
