How It Started
The festival began in August 1983. A person named Jeff Krueger started it. The very first WE Fest was held in a barn. About 9,000 people attended that first event. It has grown a lot since then!
The idea for the festival's name came from John Roley. He suggested calling it "WE" Fest. This name stuck, and it became the big event we know today.

Many top country music artists have played at WE Fest. The band Alabama was the first group to perform. Since then, many other stars have graced the stage.
