Blake Tollison Shelton (born June 18, 1976) is a popular American country singer, songwriter, and television star. He started his music journey in 2001 with his first song, "Austin." This song quickly became a number one hit. His first album, also called Blake Shelton, sold very well.
Over the years, Blake Shelton has released many successful albums and singles. He has had 30 songs reach number one on the country music charts. He has also been nominated for nine Grammy Awards. Besides music, Blake is famous for being a coach on the TV singing competition The Voice from 2011 to 2023. His team won the show nine times! In 2024, he joined a new music company, BBR Music Group.

Blake Shelton's Early Life and Dreams
Blake Tollison Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma, on June 18, 1976. His mom, Dorothy, owned a beauty salon, and his dad, Richard, sold cars. Blake loved music from a young age. When he was 12, his uncle taught him to play the guitar. By 15, he had already written his first song! He even won an award in Oklahoma when he was 16.
Blake faced a sad time when his older brother, Richie, passed away in 1990 at the age of 24. After finishing high school at 17, Blake moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to chase his dream of becoming a singer. He worked at a music company and eventually got a music contract with Sony Music in 1997.

After moving to Nashville, Blake signed with Giant Records. In 2001, his first single, "Austin," became a huge hit, reaching number one on the country charts for five weeks! Soon after, he moved to Warner Bros. Records. His first album, Blake Shelton, was a big success and included other popular songs like "Ol' Red," which is still a favorite at his concerts.
His second album, The Dreamer (2003), also had a number-one hit called "The Baby." In 2004, he released Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill, which featured another chart-topping song, "Some Beach." Blake's songs even appeared in the TV movie The Christmas Blessing in 2005, where he made a small appearance.

In 2007, Blake released his fourth album, Pure BS. This album included hits like "Don't Make Me" and "The More I Drink." A special version of the album in 2008 featured his popular cover of Michael Bublé's song "Home," which also became a number-one hit.
His fifth album, Startin' Fires, came out in 2008. It included the hit "She Wouldn't Be Gone." Blake also released EPs (shorter albums) like Hillbilly Bone and All About Tonight in 2010.
