Miranda Leigh Lambert (born November 10, 1983) is a famous American country singer. She was born in Longview, Texas. Miranda started her music journey in 2001 by releasing her first album on her own.

In 2003, she became well-known after finishing third on the TV singing show Nashville Star. Besides her solo career, Miranda is also part of a group called Pistol Annies. She formed this group in 2011 with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.

Miranda Lambert has won many important awards. These include Grammy Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, and Country Music Association Awards. She has won more Academy of Country Music Awards than any other artist ever. In 2019, the Chicago Tribune called her the "greatest country music artist of all time." In 2024, she received the Country Icon Award at the People's Choice Country Awards.

Miranda Lambert's Early Life

Miranda Leigh Lambert was born on November 10, 1983. Her parents are Rick and Bev Lambert. She was born in Longview, Texas, and grew up in Lindale, Texas. She was named after her great-grandmother, Lucy Miranda. She has one younger brother.

Her parents worked as private detectives. They later started a faith-based ministry. They opened their home to help people who were experiencing difficult situations. Miranda has said that these experiences helped inspire her music. Her song "Gunpowder & Lead" reflects these feelings.

While still in high school, Miranda started singing professionally. She performed with "The Texas Pride Band." She also sang with the house band at the Reo Palm Isle in Longview, Texas. This famous place had hosted stars like Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson.

When Miranda was 16, she appeared on the Johnnie High Country Music Revue. This was a talent show that helped start LeAnn Rimes's career. Miranda then had a recording session in Nashville, Tennessee. However, she left because she didn't like the "pop" style of music she was asked to sing.

In 2000, she went back to Texas. She asked her father to teach her guitar so she could write her own songs. In 2001, she released her first album, which had 10 songs.

In 2002, Miranda performed at Love and War in Texas. She also opened for other country artists like Kevin Fowler and Jack Ingram. In 2003, she tried out for the TV show Nashville Star. She finished in third place. During the show, a judge named Tracy Gershon noticed her talent. This led to Miranda signing with Epic Records.

First Albums: Kerosene and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2004–2008)

Miranda signed with Epic Records on September 15, 2003. Her first song with them was "Me and Charlie Talking," released in 2004. This song was on her first Epic album, Kerosene. Miranda wrote 11 of the 12 songs on this album.

The album became number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums charts. It sold over one million copies. Four songs from the album became Top 40 hits. Miranda also toured with famous artists like Keith Urban and George Strait in 2006. In 2007, she toured with Dierks Bentley and Toby Keith.

Miranda's second album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, came out on May 1, 2007. She wrote eight of the 11 songs on this album. One of its most popular songs was "Gunpowder & Lead."

In 2005, Miranda won the "Fresh Face of Country Music Award" at the Academy of Country Music Awards. She was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 2007 for her song "Kerosene." In 2007, she won the Top New Female Vocalist award. In 2008, her album Crazy Ex-Girlfriend won Album of the Year.

Revolution and Big Success (2009–2011)

Miranda released her third album, Revolution, on September 29, 2009. She helped write 11 of the 15 songs on this album. Other artists like Blake Shelton also helped write songs for it.

Revolution received excellent reviews from music critics. Many called it one of the best country albums of the year.

The album's second song, "White Liar", was released in August 2009. It became Miranda's first Top Five hit, reaching number 2. The third song, "The House That Built Me", was released in March 2010. It became a number one hit and stayed there for four weeks. This song also sold over a million copies.

"Only Prettier" was the fourth song from the album. Its music video became very popular. It featured other country artists like Kellie Pickler and Hillary Scott. "Heart Like Mine" was the last song from Revolution. It became Miranda's second number-one hit in May 2011.

To promote Revolution, Miranda started her "Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars" tour in March 2010. She performed in 22 cities.

On April 4, 2011, Miranda introduced her new group, Pistol Annies. The group includes Miranda, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley. They released their first song, "Hell on Heels," in May 2011. Their first album, Hell on Heels, came out in August 2011. It debuted at number one on Billboard's country chart.

Miranda's fourth solo album, Four the Record, was released on November 1, 2011. This was her first album with RCA Nashville. Four the Record had five popular songs. "Over You", which Miranda and Blake Shelton wrote together, became a number one hit in 2012.

In February 2012, Miranda acted for the first time on the TV show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She said she was a big fan of the show.

In 2012, Miranda sang on Blake Shelton's Christmas album, Cheers, It's Christmas. In October 2012, Miranda and Dierks Bentley announced their "Locked & Reloaded Tour." It started in January 2013.

In May 2013, the Pistol Annies released their second album, Annie Up. This album featured their first song to appear on the country chart, "Hush Hush."

Platinum Album Success (2014–2015)

"Automatic" was the first song from Miranda's fifth album, Platinum. It was released in February 2014 and received great reviews. The album, with 16 songs, came out on June 3, 2014.

The album's second song, "Somethin' Bad", was a duet with Carrie Underwood. It was first performed at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.

New Albums and Tours (2016–2018)

In March 2016, Miranda performed outside the US and Canada for the first time. She was a main performer at C2C: Country to Country, Europe's biggest country music festival. She played in England, Scotland, and Ireland.

In July 2016, Miranda released "Vice". This was her first new song since Platinum. In September, she announced her sixth album, The Weight of These Wings, released in November 2016. She also performed on "Forever Country", a song celebrating 50 years of the CMA Awards.

After The Weight of These Wings was released, Miranda started her "Highway Vagabond Tour" in January 2017. These were her first live shows after taking a break for vocal rest. The tour visited the US, Canada, and Europe.

Wildcard and Awards (2019–2020)

Miranda announced that the first song from her seventh album would be "It All Comes Out in the Wash". It was released in July 2019. She co-wrote this song with Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, and Liz Rose. This was her first time working with producer Jay Joyce. Other songs like "Locomotive" and "Bluebird" were also shared before the album.

Miranda's seventh album, Wildcard, was released on November 1, 2019. To promote the album, she announced the "Wildcard Tour." However, the tour had to be canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The album Wildcard was nominated for Album of the Year at both the ACM and CMA awards. It won the 2021 Grammy for Best Country Album on March 15. She performed "Bluebird" at the awards show.

New Projects and Awards (2021–2022)

In March 2021, Miranda hinted at a new project with her friends Jon Randall and Jack Ingram. They announced their acoustic album The Marfa Tapes, released on May 7. The album included Miranda's songs "Tin Man" and new songs like "In His Arms." The album was recorded in Marfa, Texas, with just two microphones and two guitars. It had a raw, unpolished sound. It featured 15 songs they had written together over six years.

Miranda, Randall, and Ingram performed "In His Arms" live at the 2021 ACM Awards. Miranda also performed with Elle King and sang harmonies for Chris Stapleton.

The new version of "Tin Man" and other songs like "Geraldene" were released before the album. The trio performed "Geraldene" live on The Ellen Show. Miranda also hinted that a new solo album was being planned. She mentioned possibly re-recording some songs from The Marfa Tapes for it.

In December 2021, Miranda released "Y'all Means All" to support the LGBTQ community. The song was used in the trailer for the TV show Queer Eye.

In March 2022, Miranda won Entertainer of the Year at the American Country Music Awards. Her 2021 song with Elle King was certified platinum. They performed it together in February.

Miranda released a new song called "Strange" before the ACM Awards on March 7 in Vegas. She was nominated for 5 awards. She won Video of the Year and the top prize, Entertainer of the Year, for the first time. This brought her total ACM Awards to 37, the most of all time.

Recent Music (2023–Present)

In March 2023, Miranda announced she was leaving Sony Music Nashville after 19 years.

In April 2024, Miranda signed a new deal with Republic Records and Big Loud. She released her first song under this new deal, "Wranglers", on May 3, 2024. This song is the first from her tenth album, Postcards from Texas. The album was released on September 13, 2024.

Other Ventures and Businesses

In 2009, Miranda became a face for Cotton Inc.'s "The Touch, The Feel of Cotton" campaign. She appeared in ads and offered a free song download.

In December 2014, Miranda launched her own line of shoes and boots with DSW. In November 2014, she partnered with Chrysler's Ram trucks. Ram gave her a special truck, which she auctioned off. The money went to her MuttNation Foundation.

In May 2021, Miranda became the first female artist to open her own bar in Nashville, Tennessee. It's called Casa Rosa, which means "Pink House" in Spanish. The Tex-Mex-themed place has live music and Miranda's career items. At the opening party, Miranda performed with her husband.

Miranda also has her own clothing line called Idyllwind with Boot Barn. She has a wine brand called Red 55 Winery. She also owns The Pink Pistol boutique in her hometown of Lindale, Texas.

Y’all Eat Yet? Welcome to the Pretty ... Kitchen

In 2023, Miranda co-wrote a cookbook called Y’all Eat Yet? Welcome to the Pretty ... Kitchen. It includes 50 recipes inspired by important women in her life and her home in East Texas. The book also shares personal stories and photos from her farm.

MuttNation Foundation

In 2009, Miranda and her mother, Bev, started the MuttNation Foundation. This organization helps rescue animals and animal shelters. Miranda cares deeply about this cause. MuttNation works on several important things:

  • Adoption drives: Miranda holds these at her concerts and other events.
  • Fill the little red wagon: These are drives to collect donations.
  • Special circumstances: They help during emergencies or difficult situations.
  • Cause for the Paws: These are yearly fundraising concerts.
  • Mutts Across America: This program gives money and help to shelters in all 50 US states.
  • Ran's Animal Care Express: This helps transport pets.
  • Mutt March: An annual 5k run where the money goes to MuttNation.

In 2017, after Hurricane Harvey, MuttNation rescued many animals. In 2014, Miranda opened Redemption Ranch, an animal shelter in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

To support the foundation, Miranda released a line of pet products in 2019. These are sold in Tractor Supply Company stores. In September 2022, MuttNation partnered with Greater Good Charities. They provided 2 million pet meals to help families keep their pets during tough economic times.

Miranda Lambert's Personal Life

In 2006, Miranda started dating country singer Blake Shelton. They got engaged in May 2010 and married on May 14, 2011. They announced their divorce in July 2015.

In December 2015, it was confirmed that Miranda was dating R&B singer Anderson East. They met in September of that year. In 2016, Miranda bought a large farm in Primm Springs, Tennessee. In April 2018, Miranda and East broke up. Miranda then dated Turnpike Troubadours frontman Evan Felker in February 2018. They broke up in August 2018.

On February 16, 2019, Miranda announced that she married New York City Police Department officer Brendan McLoughlin. They married on January 26, 2019, in Davidson County, Tennessee.

Miranda has several tattoos, including a queen of hearts tattoo she added in October 2018.

In April 2018, Miranda won the ACM Award for Female Vocalist of the Year for the ninth year in a row. This made her the most awarded artist in that category.
