The Ellen Show is a funny TV show that was created by and stars Ellen DeGeneres. It was shown on the CBS channel in 2001 and 2002. This was the second sitcom Ellen DeGeneres made. Her first show was called Ellen, which aired from 1994 to 1998 on ABC. The Ellen Show was stopped after 13 episodes because not enough people were watching it.

The show also featured actors like Cloris Leachman, Martin Mull, Kerri Kenney, Jim Gaffigan, and Emily Rutherfurd. Carol Leifer and Mitchell Hurwitz helped create the show. They also wrote the very first episode together. The show was first going to be called Ellen Again.

What the Show Is About

The main character, Ellen Richmond, had an internet company called Homelearn.com. When her company went out of business, Ellen decided to move back to her hometown. She went to live with her mom, Dot, who is a bit unusual, and her sister, Catherine, who is not very organized.

Back home, Ellen runs into Rusty, who was her date for senior prom. They wonder if they can start their romantic relationship again. Ellen also meets her old high school teacher, Mr. Munn, who is quite silly. Even though she is far from her old friends, Ellen starts to get used to her new life. She takes a job as a guidance counselor at her old high school.
